Money, Power and Print will be holding the 2018 colloquium in Siegen from 7-9 June 2019 at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst. The event is titled “Reassessing the Financial Revolution,” and it will feature contributions from history, literary studies, rhetoric and economics. We still have space for discussants who are interested in — or are currently researching — the Financial Revolution (i.e., the infrastructural changes that took place in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries, which entailed developments in public credit, party politics, joint-stock corporations, stock markets, and paper money). Scholars who would like to participate as discussants are welcome to contact Natalie Roxburgh (natalie.roxburgh@uni-siegen.de), as they would need to access and read the papers in advance and plan on being present for the full duration of the event.

Download the schedule here.

Participants will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Siegen. Directions from the main station to the hotel are here. Directions from the hotel to the venue can be accessed here.

The event is sponsored by the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung, along with the support of the University of Siegen and the University of Hertfordshire.
